What to Expect
.
You can expect to be treated with the utmost respect and acceptance of who you are no matter what race, religion, gender or sexual orientation you may identify with. You can expect that whatever you bring to counselling will be held confidentially with the usual limitations of personal and public safety – this will be discussed further in the initial session.
Your openness and honesty in regards to how you feel the counselling process is going is encouraged at all times. If for any reason you find you are unhappy with the counselling process I would really appreciate the chance to discuss any issues you may have. If the issue cannot be resolved I am more than happy to work through a referral process with you to find another therapist you are comfortable with.
I am a Full member of the NZCCA and adhere to their code of ethics.
I work with a range of issues, for example: Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, Grief, Anger, Relationships/Couples and in particular have an interest in working with men around issues of sexual addiction.
I also provide counselling for ACC Sensitive Claims.
My heart and passion for counselling is to see people engaged in life in such a way where they are free to pursue their dreams, be comfortable in who they are and intentional about the way they do life - Living on Purpose.
My training has been in ‘Cognitive Behavioural Therapy’ (CBT) and ‘Narrative Therapy’, underpinned with a ‘Client Centred’ approach. A ‘Client Centred’ approach basically means your views, thoughts, and opinions play a strong determining factor in the direction the counselling journey takes.
